Sanitary Sewer Charges Winter-Period Averaging

Billing Cycles

For single-family customers that have public water the quarterly sewer charge is based on actual water usage. There are three (3) utility billing cycles for water and sewer. This means one third of all the water and sewer customers are sent a bill each month. This is repeated four times (quarterly) per year.
  • Cycle A is billed in January, April, July and October
  • Cycle B is billed in February, May, August and November
  • Cycle C is billed in March, June, September and December

Summer Months

The Township recognizes that in the summer period months (May through October) not all of the actual water used is going into the sanitary sewer due to lawn sprinkling and gardening. Therefore, the sewer charges in the summer months are based on the actual water usage in the non-summer period (November through May). Since there are two quarters in the non-summer period the average water usages in these two quarters are the basis for the sewer charges in the summer period.

Billing Cycles & Averaging Periods

For multi-family developments and commercial accounts winter period averaging is not used.
