Featured Pet: Mary and Margaret
Mary and Margaret were found abandoned by their mother when they were 10 days old, in the fall of 2015. They were covered in fly eggs, and Mary had a wound on one of her legs. Shelter staff cleaned them up and took them to the veterinarian. Because the origin of Mary’s wound was unknown, both kittens were put in a 6-month quarantine. One staff member bottle-fed these precious girls until they were old enough to eat on their own. They have been at the shelter now for over a year, and are so looking forward to finding their “furever” home. Even though they roam free at the shelter, they still prefer to sleep and eat together in their cage that is left open for them, so we would prefer them to be adopted together. Mary is a calm and independent girl, and Margaret is very active and outgoing. Despite these variations in personality they are both very sweet and affectionate, and are always begging for love and attention. They get along well with all the other cats at the shelter, but seem to be intimidated by the dogs there - perhaps they could do fine with the right dog. They are both healthy, spayed, and up to date on all their shots. Please call the shelter at 973-334-6410 for more information, or better yet, stop by the shelter to meet them
