In the Matter of the Petition of Jersey Central Power and Light Company Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-19 for a Determination that the Montville-Whippany 230Kv Transmission Project is Reasonably Necessary
Docket No.: A-2183-17
The Office of Administrative law (“OAL”) issued its Initial Decision on the project on August 10, 2017. Thereafter, the BPU issued its Final Decision and Order on November 21, 2017. The Decision includes the Township’s settlement with Jersey Central Power & Light and the rerouting of the lines, which is part of the terms of settlement.
On January 18, 2018, the Montville Township Board of Education filed its Notice of Appeal to the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, which indicated it was appealing the BPU’s Order. Jersey Central Power & Light (“JCP&L”), the Township of Montville, the Division of Rate Counsel and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (“BPU”) all filed the necessary responsive documents, which were accepted. The Appellate Division will not schedule this matter for oral argument and has not provided an anticipated date for a decision.
