[ARCHIVED] 8/6/20: Power Outage Update

Town Seal

From the Mayor and Township Committee:

As your Mayor, on behalf of the Township Committee, we want to inform you that since our first power outage, Chief Caggiano, Administration, and I have been in constant communications with JCP&L. We participated in yesterday’s statewide JCP&L conference call as well as Morris County’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) conference call for any updates related to Montville Township. Unfortunately and to our dissatisfaction we are being provided with the same information as you are, which is what JCP&L is posting on their website.

We just spoke with our area representative and he advised us that our outage numbers have gone from approximately 8,900 to 6,800 to 5,700 as of this morning. There are utility crews that have been dispatched to Montville Township, including MonPower from Maryland, with the goal of reducing the number of outages.

We will continue to be vigilant and keep in contact with JCP&L and update you as soon as we have information to share.
