The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention annual "Get Smart about Antibiotics Week" is occurring November 14 - 20, 2016. Once again, NJDOH is a participating state partner to assist in the dissemination of messages and materials in order to raise awareness about proper antibiotic use. Inappropriate use, improper adherence and overprescribing are leading to antibiotic resistance which is a serious and growing public health threat. Here's how you can participate:

November 14 at 1:00 EDT - Kickoff Thunderclap - sign up with your organization's Twitter account and/or your personal Facebook and Twitter accounts to join in the inaugural #AntibioticSmart Thunderclap campaign.
November 18 at 11am - 1pm EDT - Global Twitter chat using #AntibioticResistance. Follow @CDCgov.
November 14-18 - Follow NJDOH on Facebook for daily information about "Get Smart about Antibiotics Week."
