On Monday, February 20th (President’s Day) at 1:00pm at Town Hall on Changebridge Road there will be a ceremony unveiling a commemorative monument plaque in honor of two World War ll Veterans: Joseph Quade and Dave Marshall. This special occasion and honor was funded by a private donor and planned and arranged by Montville VFW Post 5481.
Dave Marshall is deceased. He was a former Township Committee member who was very involved in the early planning of Montville Township. Joe Quade also worked tirelessly on behalf of Montville Township for many years. He served the community in many different capacities but his first love was being a substitute teacher at Montville High School. He is loved to this day by many of his students who have since gone on to live successful lives in part because of Joe’s dedication.
You are invited to attend the unveiling on Monday. Joe, still being active in spite of health challenges, will be there to greet and thank his friends for this tribute. We realize Monday is a holiday but the date and time was chosen to make it easier for Joe’s family. The ceremony should take approximately 30 minutes. Please try to attend to show your appreciation for these two gentlemen’s service to country and community…and wish for good weather.
MARK THE CALENDAR – MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20TH AT 1:00PM AT TOWN HALL. – Please feel free to invite others that know either of these two.
