(NEW) (November 21) JCP&L's attorney, in a letter dated November 20th, indicated that "JCP&L respectfully declines Montville Township's invitation to participate" in the Township Committee's meeting on November 25th.  Despite JCP&L's absence, the Township Committee will continue with it's plan to hold that meeting starting at 6:00 pm Tuesday evening.  A representative of Maser Consulting will be present to review the JCP&L project at that time.

(November 14) In a letter from the Township's attorney, representatives of JCP&L were invited to attend the next meeting of the Township Committee on Tuesday, November 25th, starting early at 6:00 pm.  They were requested to bring JCP&L's responses to the public feedback that was presented at the November 10th Open House meetings.  During this meeting, there will be a review of the project by the Township's consultant, Maser Consulting, as well as an opportunity for public comment.  The Township Committee also intends to make a position statement during the meeting.

(November 8) JCP&L has created a new website specifically to provide information and answer questions about the Montville-Whippany Reinforcement Project. The Project Overview tab provides additional information, including maps, for the new "revised preferred route," particularly in the areas of the Lazar Middle School and the Chase and Meadows condominium communities.

JCP&L's "Energizing NJ's Future" Website

(November 5) JCP&L issued a Press Release on November 4th announcing "a revised preferred route for a 230-kilovolt (kV) transmission line that avoids some congested areas originally considered for the project." The press release also confirmed the two November 10th meetings where they "will share maps and other details of the route." Low-resolution maps of the revised preferred route are available in the project Informational Flyer and on Flickr.

(October 30) On Wednesday, October 27th, JCP&L sent a letter to the Township and to local property owners within 200 feet of their Preferred Route for their Montville-Whippany Reinforcement Project.  They will be holding two open houses on Monday, November 10th, one of which will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Montville Township High School auditorium.  All are invited to attend.  These meetings will provide residents an opportunity to learn more about the project and to ask questions.  Those unable to attend the evening meeting at the high school may be able to attend the one to be held the same day from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Sheraton Parsippany Hotel, located at 199 Smith Road in Parsippany.
