IMPORTANT RECYCLING INFORMATION
NO PLASTIC BAGS NOTIFICATION
Since Montville Township
has moved to a Single Stream Recycling-Curbside Collection Every Wednesday, our
recycling tonnage has increased annually.
However, we have recently
been advised by our solid waste hauler that some recyclers are using and/or
placing plastic bags of various sizes, i.e., grocery store plastic bags in
their recycling bins, which are not allowed and not being accepted by our
recycling materials purchasers.
Additionally, if this material has to be separated at the processing
level, Montville Township will risk receiving added solid
waste processing costs.
Moreover, our waste hauler is
not required by contract to take plastic bags. Please do not place plastic bags within your recycling receptacle
containers or dumpsters or your recyclables will not be picked up.
Your efforts to continue to
recycle all those materials that are recyclable have had a direct impact on
reducing our overall solid waste costs, please continue to recycle, but just
leave the plastic bags out…
