Members reviewed approximately half of the
draft Land Use Plan Element prepared by Burgis Associates.
First item discussed involved the title
image. Suggestions included presenting
three to six photos as exemplary of different land uses within the Township.
Second item dealt with Lake Valhalla. The members felt it was important to also
include a discussion of the surrounding neighborhood and the importance of
preserving the “lake character.”
Third item discussed involved the Pennick
property and the importance to the members to determine what the property
owners intend to develop on the property in the future. Either Mr. Burgis or Ms. Hunscher will
attempt to contact the owners.
Fourth item discussed was the proposed site
plan lay-outs for Towaco
Center and the need to
identify them as “Concept Plans” within the Land Use Element. Illustrative site plans also included for the
B-1 zone were discussed.
There was also discussion as to whether the
Route 46 Corridor Study should be appended to the back of the document. Mr. Burgis suggested that the portion of the
study addressing Montville
be included, since the entire document was rather large.
