Montville Township Environmental Commission
June 15, 2011
Meeting began promptly at 7:30pm.
Roll Call. Absent with excuse, Vic Canning, Angelo Intile, Deb Nielson
Present: Monica Mianecki, Sergio
Angione, Michele Caron, Larry Kornriech, Hugh Merritt, Garry Annibal, Tim Braden, Andrew Pappachen, Garry Annibal
Minutes
On a motion made by Sergio Angione and seconded by Michele
Caron, the May 18, 2011 minutes were approved by voice vote.
Sub-Committees Reports
Board of Adjustment –.Michele Caron has no report.
Board of Education – Hugh Merritt is following up with Dr. Fried.
Economic Development – Monica Mianecki reports that Maggie Peters was a guest
speaker at the meeting.
Health Department – Garry Annibal reports that there was no BOH meeting. .
Open Space Committee – Angelo Intile absent, no report. Tim
Braden reports that the Township Committee approved matching
funding for the open space grant.
Planning Board – Victor Canning absent, no report.
Township Committee – Tim Braden
has no report.

Old Business
POND MAINTENANCE PROGRAM – Montville did not get the
grant.
ENVIROMENTAL HANDBOOK – There are
currently interns that are working on this project. Michele Caron suggests
having separate sections for landscapers, builders and homeowners. Mr. Tom
McMillan suggests having a comment section possibly on Patch.
GOALS FOR 2011 – Larry Kornriech
suggests making the goals more attainable for 2012.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES INVENTORY
– ANJEC grant – Sergio Angione met with Meghan Hunscher. They will schedule a meeting. Michele Caron
states there are 6 grants available.
New Business
RECYCLING ASSISTANCE TO THE
TOWNSHIP – Larry Kornreich spoke with Adam Brewer regarding the recycling. Adam Brewer states that the waste is measured
by tonnage. He can get scales if
needed. Tim
Braden states that business owners should be targeted
first.
REVIEW OF THE TOWNSHIP’S TREE
ORDINANCE – Meghan Hunscher would like the tree ordinance to be reviewed. Garry Annibal will review.
EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT – Tim Braden states that the greenhouse is complete.
