Montville Environmental Commission Appeals to Residents for Input on ERI |
|
|
|
The Montville Township Environmental Commission will be
holding a public information session on February 20, 2013 at 7:30 PM in the Montville Township municipal building to gather input on the
draft update to the Township’s Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI). The draft ERI, which
catalogues the Township’s natural features is available below for review. This would be the most recent
update in many years. A presentation will be made by the Township's Planning consultant, who is preparing the base document,
which consists of descriptions and GIS mapping. The public is welcome to submit
any photographs of scenic areas of the Township to Meghan Hunscher, Principal
Planner via e-mail or hard
copy to the Planning and Zoning Office.
Once complete, the ERI will serve as a dynamic reference
document that may be used by all Township Boards, Committees, Commissions, and
residents. The document includes geology, hydrology, soils, wetlands,
vegetation, contaminated sites and historic and cultural features. The ultimate
goal of the document and mapping is to provide parcel-specific information
related to environmental resources and constraints and for use when reviewing
development applications and amending the Master Plan and Land Development
Regulations. The cost to update the ERI is being partially funded through a
grant from the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions
(ANJEC).
Please contact Township Principal Planner Meghan
Hunscher, PP or
Environmental Commission Chairman Larry
Kornreich with any questions.
