Highlands Coalition of Boonton –
Presentation on what the environmental advantages are for Montville
to be part of Highlands by Mark Zakutansky
presentation was a PowerPoint and open questions.

Old Business-
Update
by Dr. Kornreich on Presentation of Revised Water Quality Management Planning
Rules, NJDEP Wastewater Management Plan for Morris County – Dr. Korneich asked
if the maps done for Highlands protection and for water quality management
planning were the same. Deb Nielson
explained that the town was carefully reviewing the Water Quality planning map
to be sure that errors would be identified and appropriate changes requested.
Update ANJEC Congress
& Award Presentation – Michele Caron
& Dave Cotter – Montville
won the ANJEC award and that the committee was honored at a luncheon earlier
this month.

Goals & Objectives:
Mission
Statement & Business Plan- Hugh Merritt, Sergio Angione, and Larry
Kornreich are in the process of gathering information
Budget for 2009 calendar year & costs
for update of NRI-Michele
Caron and David Cotter are in the process of gathering information
Status
of Web Site/Newsletter –David Cotter will be done shortly and is working on
it
New Programs for
public participation for 2009 –Michele Caron announced project porch light
for January and it is run by New Jersey Clean Energy.
Stream Monitoring
& Watershed Ambassador – Update by Larry Kornreich- Mr. Kornreich indicated he spoke
with Erin Bye who would like to assist with training and field work
Water & Aquifer
Project
– Update Hugh Merritt- Mr. Merritt
indicated he would get in touch with Mr. Mazzaccaro about what was discussed at
Highlands presentation with information that was presented which was
inconsistent with Montville’s
map. Mr. Merritt is gathering data and
concerns to discuss with Mr. Mazzaccaro.
Paper Recycling
Project
– Mr. Intile indicated he spoke with Sintas and will come back to Commission
with some costs on this project.
NJ Solar Power Inc –
Project
– Sergio Angione –September 30 spoke
with Phillip Stone, company is pro community education. Stone would like a
layout and plan before giving an estimate on police station. Stone said if we
make commitment by the end of year, they can be operating by next spring. The
town receives no expenditure funds. Michele suggested a presentation to the
township committee from Sergio Angione
and Phillip Stone. Commission would like to endorse the presentation to the
township committee. Michele suggested that committee should find out the towns
carbon footprint and see how beneficial this project is.

Program
– Update – Michele Caron - A Public Presentation from NJ Clean Energy - The NJ Clean
energy programs available for all Montville Residents to keep energy costs down
and reduce carbon footprint
