NJ Clean Energy Commission –
Presentation on the heating season and savings hints and tips was presented by
Old

Stream
Monitoring & Watershed Ambassador – This was not updated by Larry Kornreich
because he was not in attendance at the meeting and will be rescheduled to
future agenda.
Water
& Aquifer Project – This was not updated by Hugh Merritt because he was not
in attendance at the meeting and will be rescheduled to future agenda.
Paper
Recycling Project – Angelo Intile reported
that Cintas indicated that it would cost $1,000 dollars to drop off truck. Then the people from the town will drop off
donations of paper to be shredded. This
will be discussed at a later time.
NJ
Solar Power Inc – Project – Sergio Angione
updated the Commission stating that geo genetics is ready to come to the
township committee meeting, Frank Bastone the township administrator asked to
see material on the company before the attended the meeting. Commission is waiting on Geo-Genetics to send
information over to the town.
NJ
Clean Energy Program – Update – Michele Caron
- A Public Presentation from NJ Clean
Energy - The NJ Clean energy programs available for all Montville Residents to
keep energy costs down and reduce carbon footprint
Computer
Recycling – Michele Caron will address at a later time.

Adoption
of Minutes of 10-15-08 minutes as distributed: Motion made to adopt meetings by
Angelo Intile. David Cotter seconded that motion. Unanimous

ZSPP/FCD01-08
JLJ&J Marketing (Kids R Kids) – 217 Changebridge Rd. – B: 138, L: 8 –
prel/final site plan/use variance and associated c variances for construction
of a child care center and medical office (separate buildings) on the same lot
– Scheduled 12/3/08 BoA agenda. – Environmental report and soil samples subject
to expert review by Ecolsciences, coordinated by Land Use as part of
development review process.
ZSPP/FDC07-08 Lowes
(Avila/Nemeth GI Auto) – 85 Bloomfield Ave. – B: 167, L: 28-32; B: 178, L: 3; B:
179, L: 1 – pre/final site plan/use variance/bulk variances for construction of
Lowe’s Home Improvement Center and mixed use retail building - Update: EIS review by Environmentalist Laura
Newguard. Several members of the
Environmental Commission walked through the site, and were happy with
what they say because it appeared that environmental issues were being
addressed.
New business
PSE&G Power Line Project – Donna Ambriano updated the
Commission, which decided that they need to gather information about the
project then decide whether they need to get involved.
January
2009 EC Meeting/Presentation by Project Porchlight – Michele Caron- indicated
additional information needed and that she needs to contact all civic groups
needed to attend in January.
The
Environmental Commission Budget & Mission Statement – Michele Caron
indicated Mission Statement needs to be more ‘personalized’ to Montville to reflect our protection of the
aquifer, open spaces, and trees.
Outreach
Programs – “Largest Tree” “Nicest
Container Garden”
“Pail Parade” Arbor Day, Recycling Day were some outreach projects
discussed. Based on possible budgetary
issues, these subjects were tabled at this time. Ms. Caron and Mr. Cotter expressed
concern about obtaining the necessary funding to conduct these projects next
year, and will report back to the Commission after further discussions with the
Township.
Planning
Board - 2009 Master Plan Re-evaluation- will be contacted by planner for
Planning Board when info is needed from Environmental Commission.
