“As required by the Open Public Meetings Act, adequate notice of this meeting has been provided.  The notice specified the time and place of the meeting to the extent known at the time. The notice was posted on the bulletin board at the Municipal Building, sent to the Daily Record and was placed on file in the Township Clerk’s Office.”

Nomination for Environmental Commission Temporary Chair- Nomination for temporary chair Sergio Angione. Angelo Intile seconds the motion.

 

Nomination for Environmental Commission Chair – David Cotter nomination Michele Caron second by Hugh Merritt.


Nomination for Environmental Commission Vice Chairperson- nomination for chair of David Cotter second by Sergio Angione.


Environmental Commission Recording Secretary – Alicia Angione- Nominate by David Cotter, Angelo Intile seconds the motion.


Introduction of New Board Member - James Muhaw


Introduction of New Planning Board Liaison – Victor Canning

 

 

Introduction of Township Committee Liaison – Tim Braden; Deb Nielson alternate

Adoption of Meeting Date Schedule – 3rd Wednesday of each month @ 7:30PM:
1/21/09, 2/21/09, 3/18/09, 4/15/09, 5/20/09, 6/17/09, 7/15/09, 8/19/09, 9/16/09, 10/21/09, 11/18/09, 12/16/09, 1/20/10- Michele moved to adopt meeting dates and unanimous agreed

Appointment to Subcommittees- Michele Caron asked Jim Muhaw if he would like to join the PSE&G committee.

 

 

PUBLIC DISCUSSION - Cliff Sipyl spoke about the Rockaway River and having recreation activities.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

PSPP/F08-11- LaSala – 2 Jacksonville Road, Block 40, lots 30.03 and 30.04– Development of retail building with apartments above- decided to talk about topic at a later meeting.

 

ZSPP/FD23-08 Youssef, Eli– (Eli Bagel) - 37 Main Rd. – B: 81, L: 2 - Prel/Final Site Plan and Use variance to allow development of a 2-story building consisting of a retail bagel shop and a two bedroom residential apartment. – Concern with the stream and trees in the development, hold off until commission looks at property and there is more information.

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

Solar Program for Safety Building – Sergio Angione- Two companies are presenting to the township committee in the next two meetings.

 

 

PSE&G Letter – Larry Kornreich/Ray Hinkle- Ray Hinkle has stepped down for this subcommittee. Hugh Merrit asked that before sending out the letter that it be reviewed by the Morris county park to let them know they are send out letter and also get legal approval.

 

Natural Resource Inventory Report – Update, Michele Caron/David Cotter- Hugh offered to assist in this project.

Environmental Commission Mission Statement – Sergio Angione/Larry Kornreich/Hugh Merritt- Motion made by:  Sergio Angione to accept mission statement, Hugh Merritt seconded this Motion made by:

 

MEC Budget – Michele Caron/Dave Cotter- few programs that will cost money are still to be determined.

 

High School Honors Program – Aquifer learning project – Larry Kornreich- not at meeting to speak about the topic.

 

Endangered Species Issue  - Hugh Merritt- sent information out to parties that are interested

 

Pyramid Mountain Hike – Hugh Merritt-put on the agenda for March.

 

Recycling Day – April 25, 2009 Saturday – Angelo Intile, Michele Caron- Angelo has a company coming called shred it that will also be taking part in recycling day.

 

Arbor Day – April 24, 2009 – Friday – Michele Caron – Dr. Gary Bowen, Superintendent of Montville Schools – Honoree

 

Project Porch light – Update – Michele Caron- postponed to February

 

Out-Reach Programs for spring – Largest circumference Tree & Nicest Planter box –

Home Depot Foundation Gift Certificates - Michele Caron, David Cotter- waiting to here from home depot.

 

OTHER BUSINESS

By laws need to be discussed during March meeting. Created a subcommittee- Also look at educational activities- headed by Jim Muhaw and Angelo Intile

Adoption of Minutes of December 17, 2009   Eligible: Hugh Merritt, Ray Hinkle, Lawrence Kornreich, Sergio Angione, Michele Caron, and Dave Cotter  - unanimous accepted

 

ADJOURNMENT – Moved to adjourn meeting by Michele Caron adjourned this motion was second by Sergio Angione.
