notice was posted on the bulletin board at the Municipal Building, sent to
the Daily Record and was placed on file in the Township Clerk’s Office.” |
NEW BUSINESS
PRESENTATION
To Civic Leaders of Project Porchlight from the NJ
Clean Energy Commission Quincy Xavier presenter was late and presented at the end of the
meeting, project Porchlight is scheduled to be March 28, 2009, Saturday from 10
am to 2pm and needed to be verified by township committee. Montville NJ is going to
save energy and money one light bulb at a time!
Saturday,
March 28th is Project Porchlight
Day in Montville Township.
TheMontville Environmental Commission has made the call to ALL volunteers’
right from your own neighborhood to spread out all over the township. Each home in Montville will receive a FREE
new (CFL) bulb. (You MUST be home to accept the bulb).Switching just ONE
old-fashioned incandescent bulb to an energy efficient 13 watt compact fluorescent
light (CFL) bulb will save a homeowner $50.00 in electricity
costs over five years! Senior House on
Route 202, will be the meeting point for the teams of Project Porchlight
volunteers to start the distribution on Saturday morning.
Adoption of MINUTES of January 21, 2009-
motion to approve the minutes by Sergio Angione and second by Larry Kornreich, adopted
unanimously
OLD BUSINESS
PSPP/F08-11- LaSala – 2 Jacksonville Road, Block 40, lots
30.03 and 30.04– Development of retail building with apartments above – approved
at the Planning Board meeting of 1/22/09- no comments offered.
ZSPP/FD23-08 Youssef, Eli– (Eli Bagel) - 37 Main Rd.
– B: 81, L: 2 - Prel/Final Site Plan and Use variance to allow development of a
2-story building consisting of a retail bagel shop and a two bedroom
residential apartment - Pending at Board of Adjustment for
March 4, 2009- no comments offered
Solar Program
– Sergio
Angione– Update from presentation at Township Committee- Sergio Angione and
Michele Caron will be having a conference call with Dr. Bowen of the Board of Education
to move forward with the process with Green Power. Geogenetics is moving
forward as well with the public safety building by also coming up with final
measurements for the building.
PSE&G Letter – Larry Kornreich and David Cotter – Update on
letter- both member feel that they must finalize and revise the letter by
focusing the letter. The letter will then be passed onto Michele Caron for
final review.
Environmental Inventory Report – Update, Michele
Caron/David Cotter- Michele Caron is presently putting together a grant from
ANJEC to move further with this project and find if there were other was to
receive money.
OTHER BUSINESS
High School Honors Program – Aquifer learning
project – Larry Kornreich- updated the commission that both Larry Kornreich and
the Advanced Placement Environmental High School teacher are looking for more
programs to do with high school students and would like to hold off the Aquifer
learning project until a later time. Michele Caron also advised to Larry
Kornreich to reach out to Lazar School as well.
Recycling Day – April 25, 2009 Saturday – Angelo Intile,
Michele Caron- updated commission on the event and are working out if there
will be a cost for the “Shred It” company.
Arbor Day – April 24, 2009 – Friday – Michele Caron – Dr. Gary Bowen,
Superintendent of Montville Schools – Honoree- three students from Montville
Elementary School will be assisting Dr. Bowen in the ceremonies.
New Business-Cool
Cities- James Muhaw- would like to present a power point presentation to the commission
to begin to get more awareness and move forward with cool cities.
