STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE
“As required by the Open Public Meetings Act, adequate
notice of this meeting has been provided. The notice specified the time
and place of the meeting to the extent known at the time. The notice was
posted on the bulletin board at the Municipal Building, sent to the Daily
Record and was placed on file in the Township Clerk’s Office.”
NEW BUSINESS
Chair noted receipt of letters from the Morris County Green
Table.
Michele Caron announced that a public advocate would like to
work with the Environmental Commission in regards to the PSEG transmission
lines.
MINUTES
Adoption of minutes of 3/18/09 – Eligible: Mr. Angione, Dr.
Kornreich, Ms. Caron, Mr. Canning, Mr. Cotter, Mr. Muhaw, Mr. Merritt- motion
made by Angelo Intile second by Hugh Meritt – Roll call: unanimous
OLD BUSINESS
Solar Program – Sergio Angione– Update that Dr. Bowen and
Sergio Angione would be present at a meeting on Friday April 24, 2005.
Following this meeting, there should be a follow up meeting to move this
project forward.
PSE&G Letter – Larry Kornreich and David Cotter – Summarized
that the letter was released on opposition of expansion of power lines to PSE&G
and others on distribution list, noting that the Commission received confirmation
that all letters were received.
Environmental Inventory Report – Update - Michele
Caron/David Cotter- The members received a copy of the re-examination of the
master plan. Discussion ensued on the
need to make sure that there is a environmental inventory report/natural
resource inventory as part of the master plan.
The commission felt that they should speak to the Township Committee on
their concerns.
OTHER BUSINESS
Project Porchlight- Ms. Caron indicated the event was held
at the senior house. There were about 50
people present, with 1,850 light bulbs distributed throughout the town. This compares to taking 526 cars off the road
for a year as an estimate as to how much energy was saved.
Recycling Day – April 25, 2009 Saturday – Angelo Intile,
Michele Caron- Ms. Caron indicating that Shred It is donating their products
one hundred percent. Ms. Caron will contact Tim Braden to see if he can get the Key Club to help
with this event this Saturday.
Arbor Day – April 24, 2009 – Friday – Michele Caron – Dr.
Gary Bowen, Superintendent of Montville Schools – Honoree. Ms. Caron indicated that New Jersey Clean Energy
would like to attend also and will bring an item to this event.
